Khagrachari Zilla Parishad Chairman ordered to refrain from performing duties
The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs has ordered Khagrachhari District Council Chairman Jiruna Tripura to refrain from all activities following allegations of corruption and misconduct. This information was given in a notification signed by the ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary Taslima Begum on Monday afternoon.

The letter said that allegations of misbehavior, arbitrariness, nepotism, teacher transfer-trade and corruption were filed against Khagrachhari District Council Chairman Jiruna Tripura. The complaint is currently under investigation. She has been ordered to refrain from all activities until the matter of the complaint is resolved.
Khagrachhari District Council Chief Executive Officer (Acting) Md. Abdullah Al Mahfuz said, “We received a letter from the ministry in the afternoon. The ministry has ordered her to refrain from performing her duties.”
Earlier, on November 7, 2024, the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs issued a notification declaring Jiruna Tripura the chairman.
